Aimee Shelide Mayer
Aimee was born and raised in Nashville, TN. Though she was away for over a decade in the Midwest, she is glad to be back home in Middle Tennessee where she shares life with her husband, Collen, their three young children, and their cockapoo Jayber.
Aimee has been engaged in Spiritual Direction for almost two decades and has been leading and crafting retreats for over half of her life. Aimee takes great inspiration from Dorothy Day and the Catholic Worker Movement as a model of radical hospitality, simple living, and accompaniment. She is a joyful and attentive listener and delights in the privilege of walking with people of diverse backgrounds on their journey of faith and getting curious together about how God, Jesus, and the Spirit are working in all things—both in joy and in deep suffering—to make all things new and draw us deeper into relationship.
In addition to Spiritual Direction, Aimee works as a consultant to non-profits, churches, and schools around issues of social justice and spiritual formation. Prior to her consulting career, she worked at Catholic Charities of Tennessee and at the University of Notre Dame in the areas of Formation, Education, and Advocacy. Aimee holds a Masters in Theology from Notre Dame and a Certificate of Ignatian Spiritual Direction through Dovehouse Ministries.
Aimee enjoys being outside, camping, dancing, music, quality time with family and friends, good coffee, delicious food, silence, walking at dusk, and watching her children grow and take in the world around them.
