Lisa Smith
Lisa Smith has trained in the Dovehouse Ignatian Spiritual Direction Training Program. She obtained a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN and a Masters of Theological Studies from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO. Because she also has a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Kentucky, she laughs that now she markets Jesus.
When not studying or attending seminars, time is spent on hospitality and using the theology of home to share the good news of God’s great love. The capstone project for seminary was on the spirituality of interior design. Making creative environments for others to bond relationally is an act of worship for Lisa. This art is practiced through simple conversations over tea, slumber parties, showers, hosting gatherings of family and friends as well as silent retreats for Dovehouse. Life is shared with husband Joey of almost thirty years, three adult children and dogs Buckley and Beau in Franklin, TN.
“Because I get so much nurture and comfort from God, I want to pass that blessing to others through the word of God, prayer and using my home as a means to have a closer relationship with the living God.”
