Susan Davenport

In 2001, Susan was invited by a friend to go on a silent retreat, little did she know that her life would never be the same. She realized during those 24 hours of silence that Jesus had a lot to say to her. It was at that time she became interested in Spiritual Direction. Since that time she has been involved with many of the offerings of Dovehouse. She has had individual direction, been a part of several groups, and gone on numerous silent retreats. In 2017-18 she completed St.Ignatius Spiritual Exercises in Everyday life. This was life changing and gave her the deep desire to become a Spiritual Director. She completed the Spiritual Direction Training through Dovehouse in April of 2023.

She is grateful for the ways that Jesus has captured her heart and invited her to this next chapter in life as a Spiritual Director.

Susan, a native of California has lived in Old Hickory, TN since 1999.

In May she retired after 40 years of teaching school 32 of those years in first grade. Children live moment by moment and move through life in a way that is a lesson for us all. Her students have been her inspiration to slow down and stay in the present.

She is available to do individual direction in-person at her house as well as virtually. She can meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from the hours of 8:00am–5:00pm.

She has a BA in Elementary Education, a MA in Biblical Counseling, and a MA in Teaching ELL. She received her certificate in Spiritual Direction the Spring of 2023.
